Music On The String will participate at the first MUSIC FOR THE PLANET international event.

It will be held from July 2 to July 9, 2025 at the ASEAN Centar in Chengdu, capital City of Southwest China.

The program includes Master Classes, Creative Workshops, as well as several performance opportunities at prestigious local venues.

Only 6 highly talented young violinists will be selected by an international jury to participate in this program. 

The selected candidates will receive a SCHOLARSHIP provided by the London Music Academy and Chengdu Cultural Partners. Scholarships include Master Classes by prof. Violeta Smailovic-Huart, as well as the accommodation and meals on site in China.

As part of the program there will be organized meetings and collaborations with local students and  renowned musicians from sought-after institutions such as ASEAN Culture Center of Chengdu University, The Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra / Sichuan Music Conservatory.

Selected participants will need to cover their round trip ticket to China’s Chengdu Airport (check prices at www.skyscanner.com, for exemple), as well as the administration fee of 250 Euros. Most of countries will not need a visa to enter China, although it will be important to confirm that with Chinese authorities*

The selection process will be based on the following:

• VIDEO RECORDING (Complete duration of the video up to 20 minutes)

a) One movement from Bach’s Sonatas or Partitas  or one movement from Telemann’s 12 Fantasias  for Solo Violin

b) one virtuoso piece or movement of a concerto  

• BIOGRAPHY (in English)
• LETTER(s)  OF RECOMMENDATION  correctly named with candidate’s first and last name
• MOTIVATION LETTER

* Talented students of any age and origin are invited to apply. If selected student is under 18 years, he/she will need to be accompanied by parent/guardian at their own cost.
